The father & son team Dad and Dave Brewing produce craft beers with no nonsense names #1, #2, #3, #4 from real hops in a small factory in Brookvale, NSW.


Dad is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Macquarie University following an eclectic commercial and consulting background. Dave is his son. The resemblance is uncanny.


Dad and Dave’s brewing makes delicious craft beers to satisfy the burgeoning demand for specialty beers. Customers like Dad and Dave’s brew because it is not over the top on bitterness and alcohol.  It goes well on any occasion and is an easy drink.

Target market

Dad and Dave target the so-called ‘conversion’ market, where the ‘big brand’ beer drinker wants to switch to craft beer without being overcome by a taste that is ‘over the top hops’.


Dad and Dave have been in business for four years. Sales volume and turnover are doubling every year. They are expanding into higher volume retail outlets and chains to make better use of economies of scale and widen their distribution footprint. Later in 2016, Dad and Dave plan to open a mini-brewery and tasting rooms in Brookvale to serve one off and seasonal beers.
